1 Cases and inflection (declension)

Nouns, the articles that accompany them, and pronouns can change their form. We call this inflection, or declension. There are rules for this and four cases:

  • 1st case (nominative),
  • 2. Genitive case,
  • 3. Dative case and
  • 4. Accusative case.

After these cases, one might ask:

  • Nominative case (who or what?)
  • 2. Genitive (whose?)
  • 3. Dative case (to whom?)

4th case (whom or what?).
